I knew when I got my hands on this yarn at the local store that it was destined to be cabled. While editing a cable stitch pattern for the crown decreases, I realized that it was reminding me of a castle. Carmilla is the villain from one of my favorite anime movies, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. The “spires” of this hat remind me of her spaceship castle. Feel free to use any DK weight yarn with good stitch definition and good stitch memory. This is not a snug hat. If you are looking for a closer fit, you might need to adjust your gauge.
