True inclusivity in knitting means celebrating diverse shapes. That’s why my patterns go beyond standard sizing, offering dedicated shaping for standard and full busts, as well as a straight-fit option. Forget deciphering vague instructions on how to “simply adjust” the fit yourself – you shouldn’t have to recalculate a design you’ve already purchased.

I’m committed to bringing a fresh perspective to pattern design, moving beyond outdated conventions. The idea that one digital file can perfectly serve both print and screen needs just doesn’t hold up. I’m changing that by providing separate, purpose-built files. My print versions are optimized for minimal ink usage with intelligent page breaks and generous space for your personal notes. The digital files are designed in landscape orientation for comfortable on-screen viewing and seamless compatibility with apps like knitCompanion. Additionally, I’m actively working on creating accessible digital versions that are screen reader friendly, ensuring that knitters with visual impairments can also fully enjoy my patterns.

Let’s be honest, wrestling with endless size numbers in a single pattern file can be overwhelming. Instead of a daunting string of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18), my patterns are thoughtfully divided into size blocks, each tailored to provide a more manageable and intuitive knitting experience. Highlighting your size shouldn’t feel like searching for a needle in a haystack!

 

Dutch and Jaqobis are the two Felines in Charge who currently run Danisty Designs and manage the creative talent of their housemate, Leslie Dunne, who has been knitting for almost 20 years (that’s longer than they’ve been alive!)  Recently Amos has joined the team and is already on track to become Chief Shenanigans Officer.  Currently, all four reside in North Carolina where they enjoy playing with yarn, fiddling with needles, and squishing works in progress.  Leslie’s additional tasks include doing all of the actual work.  The cats are really bad typists so they ask that you please contact Leslie at leslie@danisty.com with questions and comments.
